Half-Elves are the only race with a + 2 to Charisma. Wizards are the only class that uses Intelligence. High Elves are the only darkvision race that gets a +1 to Intelligence, the stat wizards need. They make the Marsh Halflings look like absolute clowns. They have proficiency in most of the few D&D skills that you actually use in Solasta and their +2 Dexterity/+1 Wisdom racial bonuses make them ideal Rangers. The Sylvan Elfgets more movement per turn than any other race, making them extremely mobile Rangers. TheyвЂ™re entirely outclassed by the Sylvan Elf. Sounds good for rangers too, right? Wrong. Marsh Halflings have darkvision and their ability score spread is +2 Dexterity/+1 Constitution. WhatвЂ™s an attunement slot, you ask? ItвЂ™s something you only get 3 of, which coincidentally is probably the highest number you can count to. You can get items that grant darkvision, but that forces you to use an attunement slot on something other races get for free. YouвЂ™re going to be spending way too much time setting up light spells or torches to accommodate them. Any race without darkvision is basically running around in the dark like an idiot, which maybe you relate a little too much to.ДЇor this reason, the races without darkvision, Humansand Island Halflings, are useless. Solasta very strictly enforces D&DвЂ™s rules on light and visibility. I recommend just pumping those scores to the max and leaving the other ones alone. Solasta always tells you which Ability Scores are good for your class. I canвЂ™t stop you from doing that and frankly I think you lack the moral fiber to resist the temptation, but I am going to pretend you are limited to crafting a balanced character. Solasta does let you give yourself max scores in every field and just roflstomp the game. without any custom difficulty options, but the Deadlier and Merciless AI options in the Game section of Settings are heavily recommended.ДЇor your Ability Scores, IвЂ™m assuming youвЂ™re using Point Buy, the non-unlimited version.
